Top disease signals (GKG deep extraction)
Per-disease media signal from the GDELT Global Knowledge Graph (BigQuery), ranked by an outbreak-shape score. The score rewards a concentrated, negative-tone burst (the shape of a breaking event) — which is deliberately orthogonal to reliability: a high score from few outlets is fast but uncorroborated. Read the score and the grade together.

Marker shows anomaly status by both color and size/border (so it stays readable with colorblindness): high-confidence anomaly (large, dashed ring) anomaly, lower confidence normal no data yet
Reliability tier uses the NATO Admiralty Code source-grading convention (A = official case data, down to F = unverified single-source) so you can judge how much weight a signal deserves. GDELT/media coverage is graded C by default.
Confidence combines statistical anomaly strength with that source reliability grade - a strong anomaly from a low-reliability source is deliberately capped below what the same anomaly strength from an official source would show.
